Lumsden Kindergarten

Our ICT room is where the children have access to an IMac, Macbook Pro and a desk top along with printers a projector and a projector screen. The children can use the Apple Computers to Google or Youtube information they require through out the day.

At present the children have been using a programme on the I-Mac called I Can Animate. This programme allows children to take photos of things they have made, then create a movie with them.

The programme takes photos of the creation in a standing still position.  The children then move their creation by moving a piece slowly, taking a photo on the computer each time they move it. Once all the photos are taken, the children then push play and watch as their creation comes alive on screen. The Mobilo has been very popular for this.

The desktop is used for the development of literacy and maths skills where the children are able to select there own program and work solo or in a group with or without a teacher.
