A visit to the New Centre site

Maddy took the children for a walk to Lumsden Place to see the sight where our new Kindergarten will be.

Maddy asked “What can you see?”
Maia replied; “There’s blocks and left over concrete.”
Sunshine noticed; “There’s lonely plants.”
“I can see a mat,” Ariana said.
Emily was very curious and asked; “When ‘are’ the house going to be ‘builded’?”

Maddy explained that it does take a long time to build a new kindergarten and that this kindergarten was being built especially for younger children like some of their little brothers and sisters. She then asked the children what the new kindergarten might need.

The children thought for a wee while then Emily started the ball rolling; “They will need blankets if they have a sleep,” she said.
“They might need a cot,” added Evie.
“And a heat pump too,” suggested Maia.

It is great our children are taking a very keen interest in the new kindergarten and it is nice they have an input and are able to contribute their ideas.

The children have been included in the process of the new kindergarten and we will continue to do this with regular visits to the site; showing them the drawing plans and through regular discussions about what is going on.
