Meet and Greet – Music Session

Enrol Here

This month we held another Meet and Greet session. This time it was a music session. We held two separate sessions, one for the babies and one for the two year olds. While everyone was arriving everyone was able to mingle and chat. It was really neat to see some new faces with their young babies also.

The older children and their parents sung and danced to a selection of our favourite songs like ‘The Chicken Dance’, ‘Mrs Bunny’ and ‘Jumping Jack’. We finished off with a slower, calmer song ‘Wind the Bobbin Up’.

The younger children and their families sang some nursery rhymes and we even got a request for the song ‘Five Little Ducks’.

Everyone had a great time and it was neat to see parents joining in and singing and dancing along to some of the songs that we regularly sing and dance too.  There is always a lot of singing and dancing happening at Lumsden, sometimes teacher led, but very often it is child led!

Singing and dancing has many benefits for children.  It gets children moving in a fun and enjoyable way as well as developing their rhythm and timing.

The next Meet and Greet session will be based around some art activities.  This will also be a great time to come and check out our new outdoor area which will be finished by then.

The session will be on the 14th August.

We will send out more information closer to the time via Facebook and Educa.

We are super appreciative of all the work the whole team at Lumsden have done for Jasmin and have nothing but nice things to say about each and every one of you. We would highly recommend Lumsden to anyone who'll listen!

I am particularly impressed with the wonderful teaching and learning that occurs in the art room and also the teaching of different languages to the children. ... I have nothing but praise for this kindergarten.
